I first saw Luke in May 2011. He had been abandoned at a hospital near Swallows Nest Children's Home, the foster home in China we helped establish. As you can see from the video in his section of the blog he was in desperate need of medical care. He went to Shanghai and had to have his left leg amputated due to gangrene. It is a miracle that he survived and he has done very well at Swallows Nest despite the ongoing need to have a firm medical diagnosis and care for the poor circulation affecting his remaining leg.

Christmas Past
I spent the day putting away Christmas decorations I felt like I just put up! We had wonderful holiday and kids all enjoyed what Santa brought them very much!
Audrey and Olivia asked for American Girl dolls. Meili wanted "real" UGG boots. Nick asked for Legos and a new Wii game. Austin loves Thomas the train and as many trains as he can get! Leo asked for Legos because that's what big brother Nick wants so why not!
Santa came through with all of the above and a few more goodies and everyone was happy!
Caitlin spent Christmas eve at our house and hung-out with Austin while we went to church. Austin doesn't really appreciate crowded, loud places so that worked out well for all.
Jessica and Josh and the kids came over Christmas afternoon and enjoyed opening gifts and Christmas dinner.

How time flies!
It's difficult to know where to begin and end up where we are! I suppose as far as the children are concerned it all began with Jessica and Caitlin. Jessica now married with three beautiful children of her own, Gabbie, Laura and Max. I am so blessed to be called Nanni! Jessica is an RN in Labor and Delivery and loves her job. Caitlin is finishing college, also to be an RN! So many of us following in my Mother's footsteps!
Angela also has a son, Alex and Anthony is working for Frank and going to college. We are very blessed to have these four on their way in this world and close enough to share their lives.
